Airtime Rewards is a decent cashback app you can use provided your mobile network is one of their partner mobile networks. If that’s the case, you can stave off a decent amount from your monthly mobile phone bill.
Airtime Rewards is a cashback app that has the tagline “Money off your phone bill”.
When you read this tagline, you automatically think it might be worth using. But before you download this app, there are a few things you need to know.
First, you need to verify if this app is legit or if this is just another scam. You need to make sure you use an app that does what it claims to do. Secondly, you need to understand how the app works so you can get a better picture of its earning potential.
And lastly, you need to weigh everything the app has to offer so you can properly decide if it’s an app worth using or not. This Airtime Rewards review will help you answer all those questions and more.
You will get an inside look so you’ll know exactly what to expect before you even download the app. So, let’s get started, shall we?
What is Airtime Rewards and what does it offer?
Airtime Rewards, as mentioned above, is a cashback app that will reward you for buying products using your linked debit or credit card.
Airtime Rewards is available for both Android and iOS devices, so compatibility won’t really be an issue.
Now, to understand how the app works and if it will be worth it, we need to take a closer look at the earning opportunities it offers.
So, here’s how to earn from Airtime Rewards.
Option 1 – Cashback offers
The thing about Airtime Rewards is, it doesn’t operate like other cashback platforms. What I mean by this is, in order to avail of cashback offers, you don’t need to click a link to get to the offer like you normally would with other cashback sites and apps.
All you have to do is link your debit or credit card to the app as well as your mobile number.
Take note that you can only link Visa and MasterCard cards to Airtime Rewards. Once you’ve linked your card, it will take 24 hours before you can start earning.
You will know if your card has been successfully linked because the app will notify you via a push message that your card is now active. As for the mobile number you can use, Airtime Rewards only accepts numbers from accredited mobile network partners.
Some of the popular mobile networks you can expect are Vodafone, EE Mobile, O2, and Giffgaff. But the complete list of accredited mobile networks will be shown inside the app.
Once everything is set and your card has been activated, all you have to do is use the card to pay for any purchase from any of their retail partners. To see a list of all their retail partners, just log in to the app. You will immediately see all the stores you can shop from, as well as the cashback rate for each store.
During my testing, there were around 70 stores to choose from. So, you actually have a decent range of options to choose from. However, not as many as on a site like, for example, MyPoints that gives you access to cashback offers from thousands of stores.
When you use the linked card to pay for the purchase, the cashback reward will not be awarded right away. You will usually have to wait a certain period before it will be credited to your account. You can check the estimated time in the pending transactions page of the app.
Also, the app will notify you via push message when a cashback reward has been credited to your account.
Option 2 – Referral program
The other way to earn rewards from this app is by inviting other people to join. This is called a referral program.
To earn from their referral program, all you have to do is click on the “Share and Earn Button” on the home screen, copy the referral code and share it with your friend. Now, make sure to remind your friend to enter the code in the referral code section.
If your friend/referral doesn’t do this, you won’t get any reward. Once they’ve entered the code, they will become your referral and you will both earn £0.5. But if your referral buys something using their linked card within 7 days of transaction, you will both earn an extra £1. And sometimes, they hold promos for their referral program where you can earn twice the amount.
How do you get paid?
So, how will you be able to withdraw your cashback rewards? First, you need to earn at least £10 to redeem your rewards.
Once you’ve reached their threshold (which is relatively low), just go to the “Rewards” section of the app and tap “Redemption History”. Then, select the amount and hit Redeem. Take note that you can only redeem your rewards to pay off your pay-monthly phone bill, or as a voucher for your prepaid mobile card.
So, if you were expecting to earn cash from this app, then you will be disappointed. They don’t offer that option. All you can really do is use your earnings to pay for your mobile phone bill.
If you prefer to earn cash, I would recommend you check out the top sites that pay via PayPal instead.
How much money can you make?
Just like with any cashback site/app, the amount you can earn will mostly depend on your spending habits. If you shop frequently, there’s a good chance you can earn a decent amount.
The cashback rate of Airtime Rewards will range from 1% to 10%, which isn’t really that great. But what makes it a decent option, in my opinion, is it decent number of partner retail stores. And considering you can buy any product as long as it is from their partner stores, the chances of receiving cashback rewards is higher.
You see, with other cashback platforms, you’d have to buy specific products to avail of cashback rewards. So, most of the time, the offers aren’t really something you need to buy. This is the main advantage Airtime Rewards offers.
Plus, the cashback reward you earn from Airtime Rewards will be from using the linked card and not from availing of the cashback offer. So, you can actually use Airtime Rewards in conjunction with other cashback platforms (as long as those platforms share a partner retail store with Airtime Rewards).
When that happens, you will essentially be earning two cashback rewards. One from Airtime Rewards (for using the linked card and one from the other cashback platform with the cashback offer).
That’s why I would say Airtime Rewards does have a decent earning potential, as long as you don’t mind the limited payout options.
Who can join Airtime Rewards?
Airtime Rewards is only available for UK residents. They do not accept users with phone numbers from outside the UK. So, if you don’t live in the UK, this app will be useless to you.
To register as a member, you have to be at least 16 years of age. You also have to have a valid mobile number from one of their partner mobile networks.
To become a member, you first have to download and install the app on your mobile device. And as shown in the photo above, the first thing the app will ask you to provide is your mobile number. If your network is not one of their partner mobile networks, then you won’t be able to register.
But if it is, you can then proceed with the registration. Once you are done with the registration, you have to link your credit or debit card, as well as your mobile number to start earning rewards. Remember that it takes 24 hours for Airtime Rewards to validate the card. So, don’t use your card before you receive the confirmation message from Airtime Rewards.
Can you get support?
If you have any questions about the app, you can check out the FAQ page on their site. It discusses some of the basic topics you need to know about the site. You can also access their FAQ page from the app.
But if you can’t find the answers you are looking for, you can use the contact form provided on their website or their app to get in touch with their support team. Or you can also email them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I would especially recommend you email them if you have trouble redeeming your earnings since that is what the site itself recommends.
Overall, I would say Airtime Rewards has a decent support system in place since they offer a couple of ways for you to get in touch with their support team.
Airtime Rewards is a legit cashback app that will reward you for simply buying from their partner retail stores using your linked credit or debit card. It has a couple of good features to offer but it also has some limitations you need to consider.
So, let me wrap up this review with a summary of its pros and cons to give you an overview of what the app has to offer. That way, you can decide if this app is the right fit for you or not.

- Limited payment methods offered
- There is a waiting time before you can start earning
